Walking Group Season Continues Into November

Our Wednesday morning walking group will continue meeting through November, weather permitting. Warm layers recommended, and please wear sturdy shoes as leaves grow slippery underfoot. Anyone can join — no registration needed. We gather at 9:30 a.m. in front of the community hall and are usually back with a warm drink by 10:45 a.m. Bring a neighbour if you can!

Fall Prevention Session with a Public Health Nurse

Later this month, a nurse from the CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent will visit our community hall for a practical presentation on preventing falls at home. Topics include home safety, footwear, medication awareness, and simple balance exercises. Everyone is welcome — this session is offered free of charge, and light refreshments will be served afterwards for those who wish to stay and visit.

Community Meal Program Resumes This Month

Our monthly community meal returns for the cooler season, bringing neighbours together around a simple, home-cooked supper at the community hall. If you would like to attend, help cook, or nominate a neighbour who might appreciate a warm meal delivered to their door, please give us a call. This program depends entirely on volunteer time — and no one is ever asked to contribute money.

New Friendly Visitors Complete Their Orientation

We are delighted to welcome four new Friendly Visitors to our team this season. Each has completed a short orientation covering confidentiality, respectful communication, and how to reach professional help if a situation warrants it. If you know a neighbour who might enjoy a regular visit, please let us know — we will make a gentle introduction.

Summer Nutrition Workshops a Warm Success
